About the event
The Best of the West 2023 Readers Choice Art Award. Adderly Grant-Lord was born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY) in New York City and she also graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in Fashion Illustration and Visual Art.
Adderly Grant-Lord's vibrant pinks, blues, and yellows lift the spirit and echo of love. Her soul shines through her work, encouraging you to see, find, and feel true beauty not only in her art but within.
Adderly envisioned, curated, produced and exhibited in the inaugural Black Futures in Art: We are Not Just History retrospective at five different locations throughout Boulder County during Black History Month 2023. The is a spectacular depiction of hope and vitality and part of an effort to, with the NAACP, raise the profiles of unseen and overlooked artists in Boulder County.
Not only does she know how to make colors pop and create divine aesthetics, but she has a keen eye for the unique and outstanding having served as a judge for the Boulder Arts Festival.
Grant-Lord has exhibited at several art galleries throughout the Metro Denver area and Colorado Springs, currently she is featured at The Museum of Boulder. She has exhibited her exhilarating and divine art at Creative Framing Fine Art Gallery in Louisville, Colorado, Thistle Gallery North Boulder, the Dairy Art Center in Boulder, Colorado, The Collective Art Gallery in Lafayette, Colorado, West and Main Fine Art Gallery, Blake Street, Denver, a member of Boulder Open Studios and the Cottonwood Center for the Performing Arts in Colorado Springs. She also sits on the Board of the North Boulder Art District (NoBo).
She has been interviewed and featured in the Boulder Daily Camera, the University of Colorado Independent and Longmont Leader. She was also a guest on KGNU News-Black Talk, and featured on Denver 9 News KUSA and Denver 7 News KMGH of Denver, Colorado to discuss the status of Black Artists locally and nationally. She lives in Lafayette, Colorado.
